After seeing this post, I realized I've been meaning to do the same with my mod list as I've spent hours upon hours tinkering and sorting through PS4 mods to determine which ones are both bug-free and lore friendly.
EDIT - I should just give credit to the Bethesda Forum as that is where I found the recommended load order but figured most people had read it. Please find the master list here.
The mods listed below are NOT IN CORRECT LOAD ORDER. I don't want to re-sort that all now. Just look at the above link to see a very detailed ordering guide. These are the mods I think are the best for PS4. I can verify they have no bugs, no gray face glitches, and won't mess your game up if you uninstall. I have hundreds of hours on PS4 at this point, and can promise these are all great mods.
Homes I have 21 characters, so I have a ton of player homes. Most people do not need more than a handful of home mods, but these are all great.
Mannequins Stay Put (a must have)
Hearthfire Map Marker Fix (changes map marker to the little house icon, not the town icon)
Improved Hearthfire Lighting (removes the weird ambient light that exists in the vanilla Hearthfire homes)
Hearthfire Display Case Fix (fixes buggy display cases)
Chartreusepod Reverie (MUST HAVE for any Bosmer players. Seriously, this is the only home a Wood Elf on PS4 should be using. It's incredible)
Whitewind Player Home (one of the best homes on PS4. Must have for Nords, buried deep in the snow outside Winterhold)
Crypt of the Old Guard (perfect Vampire home. Tons of details and storage, looks amazing. Must have for Vampires who don't particularly like living in Volkihar Castle)
Necrosis (one of the best homes on PS4. A new world-space, tons of static decor, a merchant, just a ton of stuff. Good for Necromancers and evil-doers)
Riverstone Hut (small house in Riverwood, great for a spellsword. Very dark, so I used Portable Tools to add some candles)
Hunter's Cabin of Riverwood (perfect for a grizzled hunter character)
Rayek's End (a Batcave if there ever was one. Used for my Batman build, but perfect for Argonians or sneaky characters)
Hunter's Treehouse (one-room treehouse for a wandering Nord. I use it for my Khajiit monk, because cats like trees, right?)
Ramshackle Trading Post (adds a basement home to the Ramshackle Trading Post on Solstheim. Good for Dunmer assassins)
Whiterun Watch (a generic cabin in the Whiterun plains. Good for low-key travelers. Using it for my Dragonhunter now)
Looter's Cove (one of many homes by Rezthebear. His are amazing - static decor, small yet filled with everything you need, bug-free. This is a cozy home for a thief that connects to both Riften and the Ragged Flagon)
Wanderer's Abode (another Rezthebear home. Perfect for wandering pilgrims. Small but with tons of detail, this is good for Nords/Bretons/Imperials and is one of the more 'generic' homes that can fit most player characters)
Solitude Inn Player Room - Merchant Home (another Rezthebear home. Turns the room in the Winking Skeever into a merchant's home. I use it for my Imperial Bard build. It can cause frame rate drops [seems to happen if I have had my PS4 on for a long time], but re-booting the system fixes it immediately. This is great for bards/travelling merchants)
Wizard's Laboratory (Rezthebear again. This is a Dwemer-themed mage's home in the northwest corner of the map. Great for any wizards/sorcerers)
Agent's Basement (the last Rezthebear home. A small, one-room home in Raven Rock that used the be the home of an East Empire Company agent. Perfect for an Imperial Spy or Scout, but I'm using it for a Redguard Mercenary)
Draco's Heljarchen Manor (adds walls, guards and a merchant to Heljarchen. Very Nordic themed - statues of Talos everywhere. The merchant has the gray face bug, but he is a gray Khajiit so it's hard to notice and he just stays in his tent anyway lol)
Draco's Lakeview Manor (see above, but with Dwemer-style architecture. No merchant)
Re-Color Replacer Pack (modifies the colors of Steel, Ebony and Elven gear to be a bit more silver/black/gold)
Animated Weapon Enchants (adds some awesome, enchantment-specific visuals to weapons)
True Alternation Armor Visuals (restores the cut visuals from Flesh spells - Oak has a wood-esque look, Iron is gray, etc.)
Smooth Human Female Faces (removes the wrinkles from your Breton female player characters)
Locations
Magical College of Winterhold (arguably the best mod for PS4. Completely changes the College, adds so much to the buildings themselves and re-designs the interiors entirely)
Ruins of Winterhold (puts some ruined castle parts around Winterhold)
Dawnguard Map Markers (adds markers to Soul Cairn and other Dawnguard locations)
Go Away Map Clouds (simply removes clouds from player's map)
Gameplay
Even Better Quest Objectives (makes quests objectives much more detailed)
Lore Based Loading Screens (very informative)
Biased Tweaks (a ton of little fixes that are much needed)
Better Sleep (increases Well Rested bonus, makes it 12 hours too)
Immersive Leveling (faster leveling, but not super fast)
Better Loot (increases the amount of rare loot in chests)
Rebalanced Level Lists (use with Better Loot as this one adjusts the chests to have more thematic items - i.e. Dwarven chests have Dwarven gear. Boss chests are amazing with these mods combined)
Rich Merchants of Skyrim (increases merchant gold by 10,000)
Smilodon: Combat of Skyrim (the best combat mod for PS4)
Helmetless Armor Perks (simply removes the 'head' part of all armor perks that require a full set)
BIG: Maximum Kill Move Chance (I love kill moves, this mod gives me the most I could possibly get)
BIG: More Kill Moves (see above. I noticed when using any of the BIG mods that increase decapitations, you essentially get only decapitations. So I avoid adding the BIG: Ultimate Kills or whatever that is a compilation of all these mods)
GET: No More Dead Followers (Must have. Makes all followers essential)
CC Tweaks: Better Hunger Restore Amount (must have if you play Survival Mode - changes the hunger-restore values of food to a much more reasonable scale)
Unlimited Shouting (adds a book in High Hrothgar that lets you shout w/o cool-downs)
Blessing of Talos Fix (simple bug fix that correctly displays the Blessing of Talos effect in your menu)
DLC Integration (adds ovens and stuff from Dawnguard/Dragonborn to mainland Skyrim - bandits might have crossbows, a lot of bandits wear bonemold armor, etc.)
Magic
No Starting Spells (removes Flames/Healing from your starting character but keeps the race-specific ones like Conjure Familiar. Great for player characters that don't use magic)
Better Magic (simply adds some nice round scaling to the Novice to Master perks. Increases by 15% or 25%, I forgot. It also makes some tweaks to other spells)
Phenderix Magic Evolved (adds 400+ spells. An absolute must have)
Every School Magic Damage (adds spells to Conjuration, Restoration, Alteration and Illusion that do damage directly to enemies)
Vampires & Magic (changes to Vampires all together)
Animals
Legendary Creatures (adds a ton of boss-level animals to hunt down)
Various Dragons (cyan49's re-color of dragons)
KPatch Vanilla AF Dragon Enhancement (diversifies the dragons you encounter)
Less Aggressive Animals (Mudcrabs, Skeevers and Wolves won't attack on sight now. Bigger animals have to be provoked)
Sabre Cats Respawn (did you know Sabre Cats don't respawn on PS4? This fixes that)
Better Horses (horses are essential, faster, etc.)
Harvest Overhaul (underrated, and a must have in my opinion. Changes plant and animal loot to give you much more, and animals won't carry gold or gems)
Environment
Rustic Weathers & Lighting (by far the best weather/lighting mod on PS4. Lighting is realistic but not drab, weather is diverse and impacts game play. Rain storms are severe and blizzards can be terrible to navigate in, but you also get light showers and flurries. Also, it's the only weather mod I've ever used that somehow manages to have made the sound of rain audible when you are inside a building. A must have)
Supreme and Volumetric Fog (adds intense fog when appropriate. Really cool and works well with Rustic Weathers)
ELE Interior Lighting Overhaul (a must have, totally changes the way interior lighting works)
Skyrim is Windy (makes leaves/grass move with the wind)
WATER (revamps water entirely. Must have)
Fallen Trees (must have, just looks awesome)
Dense Grass (adds grass lol)
Lamposts of Skyrim (nice to have lanterns along the roads)
Bridges of Skyrim (straight forward, adds some cool bridges)
Point the Way (adds road signs, very useful for Survival Mode where you cannot fast travel)
Insignificant Object Remover (removes rocks and grass underwater to improve frame rate)
Weapons, Armors, Clothing and Crafting
TAOS: The Art of Smithing (compilation of the best TAOS mods. Must have as it changes so much about crafting)
Missing Tempering Recipes Fix (allows you to temper items that couldn't be tempered before)
WAR: Immersive Weapons (adjusts speed and stagger for all weapons and fixes the Greatsword speed bug as well)
Seven years after the events of Dragon Ball Z, Earth is at peace, and its people live free from any dangers lurking in the universe. However, this peace is short-lived; a sleeping evil awakens in the dark reaches of the galaxy: Beerus, the ruthless God of Destruction. Dragon ball super 720p x265 download free.
Katana Pack (cyan49 makes some of the best mods, this adds craftable katanas for every material)
Paladin, Ranger & Mercenary Armory (adds a ton of armor and weapons that are just re-works of vanilla gear, but very useful as it adds a ton of little things like Paladin swords, Light Armor Ranger Hoods, Light Armor Mage Robes, etc.)
Morag Tong Master Assassin Armor (adds a Morag Tong set with really good enchantments to their headquarters on Solstheim)
Handwraps (lets you craft clothing, light armor and heavy armor hand wraps. Perfect for unarmed characters as it makes you look like a cool martial artist)
Unarmed Damage Increase Ring (must have for unarmed builds. Adds 5 rings to Belethor's that increases unarmed damage by 50 points up to 600 points. I use the 50 on my unarmed monk build to still be immersive and not cheat)
Exquisite Clothing (awesome mod that both renames all clothing [so all Clothes have unique names - Merchant Clothes, Barkeep Clothes, etc.] and adds a bunch of new items to Radiant Raiment including light armor versions of High King Torygg's gear)
Tailor's Measure (this mod is both a utility to change NPC outfits and a bug-fixer in itself. So, the GET: No More Dead Merchants mod I was using glitched out and made Nurelion strip to his underwear for some reason. Stumped on how to fix it, I realized this mod could help. Now Nurelion is wearing some nice blue mage robes. It also can help you change an NPC's gear if you think what they are wearing is silly and it has a ton of options. Be careful, as if you uninstall this when you have custom clothes on someone, they will be naked. Read the description carefully, but this is a great tool)
Portable Tools: Survival Mode Edition (another mod that has insane utility. Allows you to craft items to set up a camp: tents, bed rolls, campfires, chest, candles, etc. All storage you make is safe. I've used this to turn two locations - Narzulbur and Blind Cliff Cave - into full-on player homes. You can do infinite things with this mod)
NPCs
Immersive Citizens (must have. Complete revamp of NPC AI)
Realistic Conversations (dialogue overhaul for NPCs)
Vampire Knights (All of SkaerKrow's mods are great. I've only found 1 bug in any of them, in his Path Stalkers one, which I'm not using anymore. This one adds a ton of Vampire and Vampire Hunter content - enemies, followers, armor, weapons and dungeons. A must-have if you are doing a character that's involved with Dawnguard or a Vampire themselves)
Wolf Blooded (see above, but for Werewolves. Must add for Companions characters, adds ton of wolf-themed weapons, armors, encounter, followers, etc. Incredible)
Dragon Spawn (another SkaerKrow mod, this one has some Dragon worshipers and other interesting NPCs, armor and weapons)
Dragon Priest Gear Overhaul (completely changes the Dragon Priest masks and gives them some cool unique weapons as well)
Killable Generals (removes essential status from the Civil War Generals)
Immersive Civil War Units (adjusts the armor and weapons of Imperials and Stormcloaks. Only issue is that Stormcloaks have a bizarre amount of gear in their inventory if you loot their dead bodies. A bit immersion breaking in that regard, and I am still looking for the fix)
NPCs Don't Drop Weapons Upon Death (NPCs won't actually drop their weapons, but they stay in their inventory. Helps remove clutter/save bloat)
Lore and Gender Heights (adjusts all NPCs and the player character to lore-specific heights)
Realistic AI Detection (revamp of how NPCs can detect you when sneaking)
Sound, Music and Audio
Improved Sounds ('A simple mod that modifies hundreds of sounds in the game, from the volume of a river flowing, to the sound of a sword swinging'. Must have)
Player Home Tavern Music (plays the music from inns and taverns when you are in a player home. Ends up working with some modded player homes too, which is a nice bonus)
Combat Music Fix (fixes the glitch where high level characters wouldn't have combat music ever)
Hopefully this helps. Above are 97 mods, and I also have 3 mods - Fimbulvetr Retreat, Project Hippie and Feminine Females - that are no longer on the Bethesda page. That brings me to the 100 mod limit on PS4. I wrote the names exactly, so if you are looking for one just search on Bethesda. Most are available on XBOX and PC as well.
EDIT - added ELE Interior Lighting Overhaul, Hold Border Banners (which I've always had but just skipped over) and Dragon Spawn. Removed Spell Light Dynamic Shadows (I found out it had a bug that caused a ton of crashes in Dragonsreach - Farengar casts Candlelight and the shadows cause the game to crash) and Morrowind Music Integration as I realized I like the idea of Solstheim having separate music.
EDIT 2 - removed Hold Border Banners (found out that it causes water clipping bugs near Riverwood) and added Werewolf Perks Expanded.

When you pick up Skyrim: Special Edition on either PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the first thing you’re going to want to do is check out all of the mods available for the open world RPG on your platform of choice. There are already over 200 mods for the Xbox One version and 80 for PS4, but rather than download them all in order to find the best, why not just check out our list of 10 great mods below?
DON’T MISS: This is the most stunning iPhone 8 mockup yet
Before you begin, you’re going to want to head to the Bethesda account page and either sign in with your Bethesda account information or make a new account if you don’t have one. This is necessary for installing mods on console.
Now that you’re logged in, you can start adding mods to your game. You can browse through all of the currently available mods by heading to this page on Bethesda’s website and picking your platform from the drop-down menu.
[Quick warning before we begin: You’re going to notice a huge disparity between the amount of mods available for Xbox One versus PS4. This is because the PS4 version doesn’t allow external assets (i.e. anything modder create using assets not already contained within the base game), cutting out support for many of the best and most inventive mods. If you’re trying to decide which version to buy based solely on mod support, we have to recommend Skyrim on Xbox One.]
Ok, without further ado, let’s check out ten great mods for Skyrim:
The Forgotten City
The Forgotten City is an award-winning, critically acclaimed expansion mod offering a unique 6 – 8 hour experience: a murder mystery investigation set in an ancient underground city. You’ll need to solve it using your wits, and the ability to travel through time. It has a dark, non-linear story in which you’ll interrogate suspects, explore the city and its many secrets, and navigate challenging moral dilemmas. It features multiple endings, an original orchestral score, and professionally voiced dialogue.

Vigor – Combat and Injuries
A light weight combat mod that focuses on stamina, injuries and more reactive combat. Making combat more tactical and challenging. You are rewarded for keeping stamina at high levels with increased regeneration but when stamina bar is low, you deal less damage, move slower, can`t stagger your targets and even take increased damage.
Download for Xbox One.
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul
Adds over 5,000 lines of completely voiced dialogue for NPCs for more than 50 voice types, focusing mainly on friends, followers, spouses, and rivals. All dialogue is voiced using the original voices from the game, achieved through re-adding existing dialogue in new and suitable places, as well as editing together multiple lines to form brand new dialogue.

Campfire: Complete Camping System
Campfire is the most feature-rich camping gameplay mod for Skyrim, and the foundation of Frostfall. You are immediately granted two new Survival Skills, found in your Magic menu: Resourcefulness, and Instincts. Build a campfire from a small, fragile spark to a roaring blaze, and use it to cook with a cooking pot (or just grill right over the flames). Sit with your followers, keep warm, and let the larger campfires uplift and inspire you (granting a small XP bonus). Create tents at any tanning rack.

Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch
A comprehensive bugfixing mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition. The goal of the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (aka USSEP) is to eventually fix every bug with Skyrim Special Edition not officially resolved by the developers to the limits of the Creation Kit and community-developed tools, in one easy-to-install package.

Arcadia’s Farm
A small working farm named after the Whiterun Alchemist with player home across the road from the Whiterun Stables. Part of the “Grow Your Own” series of Mods. This time rather than just add a few grow spots to an existing farm or garden I started from scratch. The player home is a simple but comfortable one with everything you will need for crafting and plenty of storage. The smithing crafting stations have been placed in the basement out of sight.

Longer Days
“Longer Days” is a very basic mod that adjusts the timescale in Skyrim to 10 (from 20), as well as adjustments to the Fast Travel speed multiplier to make the in-game time that passes resemble that if you were to walk instead. As an added bonus, it lowers the respawn time on uncleared cells to one week (240 > 168) and replaces a vanilla loading screen message about fast traveling. Because why not?

Rain and Snow FX
Rain and Snow FX allows your character to show frost and wetness (complete with dripping particle effects) when in the rain and in snowstorms. Your skin will also be wet during and just after swimming. When the weather clears or you walk into an interior, the effect will quickly go away. When in the snow, your skin and armor will ice over in a noticeable way. When in the rain, the effect is more subtle, but your skin will be shiny and dripping. (Don’t use with Frostfall or Wet and Cold.]

Dovahkiin Keep
Large Castle that can hold a lot or armor and weapons with well over 100 Mannequins, allowing you to create every possible armor combination you can come up with.

Unlimited Shouts
Removes the cooldown from the Unrelenting Force shout [as well as most of the other shouts thanks to a recent update]. Use this new power with caution, or don’t!

Skyrim Special Edition: The Best PS4 Mods You Can Get
After a bit of back and forth and lots of deliberation, Sony and Bethesda finally agreed to the implementation of mods on PS4 releases. While we all know that Skyrim offers hours of adventure, you can expand your journey with a handful of amazing mods. Here are the best Skyrim: Special Edition mods available right now.
Ys Spell Tweaks
This mod is perfect for all of you mages out there. Thanks to a few tweaks to spell mechanics, you’ll be able to cast faster, have stronger abilities, and it removes any unnecessarily annoying animations from the casting experience.
Best Skyrim Mods Ps4 Bethesda
Even Better Quest Objectives
This is a pretty straightforward mod that is actually very useful, especially for players journeying into Skyrim for the first time. Instead of just having to rely on the map, you’ll be given detailed descriptions of what to do so you don’t get lost following floating arrows.
Point the Way in Skyrim
Want to travel through Skyrim but don’t want to keep bringing up your map for fear of breaking the immersion? Sometimes that can be difficult since it’s very easy to get lost while walking around, thanks to the lack of signs. Point the Way fixes that by placing hundreds of road signs and even having them pointed in the right directions. No more pause menus for you.
God Gear
So you just want to run through cities killing everything and fearing nobody? Then you might want to throw on some God Gear which is just a set of armor and weapons that have some ridiculously powerful enchantments.
Mortal Wounds: No Health Regeneration & Hardcore Difficulty
If you’re the opposite of the players who want God Gear and want nothing more than a brutal, soul-crushing world, then you may want to check out the Mortal Wounds mod. All combat becomes fast and deadly, and the lack of health regen means you’ll have to be careful how you approach danger and keep a healthy supply of potions.
Disable Cinematic Kills
Cinematic Kills are jaw dropping when you first encounter them, but can start to weigh down on you as you start to pile on the hours. Eventually, they’ll just be an obstacle slowing you down as you carve your way through Skyrim leaving death in your wake, so this mod that disables them will certainly prove to be handy.
Go Away Map Clouds!
Looking at Skyrim’s map will become a constant activity, so it would be great if it was always clear and easy to see. Unfortunately, we have to deal with a thick swarm of clouds that likes to appear over the map making it impossible to discern certain roads and locations. This mod removes those pesky clouds so you can see clearly once more.
Dovahkiin Keep
This is a simple mod that grants you a huge manor full of mannequins and storage for all of your armor and weapons.
Scroll Crafting
The Scroll Crafting mod allows you to craft every scroll in the game giving you access to tons of spells without the need to grind for hours to get your magic up to snuff in Skyrim.
Get Seriously Overstocked And Rich Merchants
Despite all the gold and magical equipment being sold by the merchants of The Elder Scrolls, they always manage to be broke. This mod gives the merchants fives times the gold they usually stock and three times as many items to sell.
150% Jumping & Sprinting
Contrary to the name, this mod allows you to jump 50% higher and run for 50% longer. Just for the amazing hops you’ll now have alone, this download is definitely worth it.
HUNT: Dragon Skulls, A Hunters Of Unusual And New Trophies
HUNT: Dragon Skulls, A Hunters Of Unusual And New Trophies is a mouthful, but it’s worth it. It gives you something to do with all the dragon trinkets and items that you’ll find lots of throughout your adventures in Skyrim. It adds more drops from dragons, and let’s you keep things like skulls as trophies and uses other materials as crafting items.
Legendary Creatures
Think of this as a fan-made expansion that adds eight horrifying monsters for you to battle. Each challenging foe guards brand new armor, spells, and weapons for you to collect.
Stay Arrow Stay
Stay Arrow Stay for PS4 is a great mod for career archers as it makes your world, well, more archer friendly. With this mod, you’ll have an increased chance of picking up arrows from bodies, plus, it lets more arrows appear on screen at once, adding to Skyrim’s immersion and realism.
The Ring of God Mode
You can probably tell by the name of the mod that this is going to make you very powerful. It adds a ring you can find in Whiterun that increases Health, Magicka, Carry, and other stats to 99,999, making you an unstoppable killing machine.
Cauldian Race
Perhaps you don’t think there are enough races to choose from in Skyrim. If that’s the case this mod adds the Cauldians, complete with resistances to Fire and Spark damage, as well as new followers found in the world.
Nicer Children
Let’s be honest really quick, the children in Skyrim are downright rude. This mod makes them all a bit nicer by removing some of their less welcome dialogue.
Resurrect Everything
While the ability to resurrect defeated enemies already exists in Skyrim, you were very limited. This mod allows you to resurrect all of your foes, excluding dragons.
Skill Up Cheat Items
This is one of those mods for players who just want to do as they please in Skyrim, as it will remove the immersion that comes through challenge. You’ll find a set of books in Riverwood that will help you instantly max out your abilities and even go beyond Legendary. You’ll also get a ring to help you level up faster.
Think of EasierRider’s Dungeon Pack as a small, free DLC expansion that just adds a handful of cool dungeons. There’s a total of five dungeons that range from small to very long.
Unlimited Werewolf Transformations
You, my friend, are a powerful beast who shouldn’t be confined by the sun and moon, allowed to transform only once per day. Unlimited Werewolf Transformations lets you turn into a beast as often as you please.
Unlimited Shouts
One of the most fun actions in Skyrim is shouting people off of high ledges. This mod allows you to do it without waiting for a cooldown. Unlimited Fus Ro Dahs for the world.
The Gardens of Whiterun
The Gardens of Whiterun is exactly what it sounds like. It adds a lot of plants, insect life, fish, and just greenery all around Whiterun making it a much more beautiful city. You can download it for PS4 here.
Slow and Freeze Time Spells
As its simple name suggests, this mod will add time-freezing and slowing spells to the game, purchasable from a special spell vendor in Markarth.
Immersive Patrols
A lot of mods based around immersion sadly aren’t available on the PS4, but Immersive Patrols for PS4 luckily is. This mod makes all the various factions in Skyrim patrol around in groups together, making these factions in Skyrim feel more lifelike and impactful.
Necromany Overhaul
This mod makes raising the dead a little more fun, removing the level cap and allowing you to summon a permanent undead companion, among other tweaks to the spell school.
Easy Weather Change
Cause over a dozen weather types, including Nightmare Fog, using the spellbooks added by this mod.
Phenderix Magic World DLC
This massive mod goes all out, adding new areas, 400 new spells, tons of new items and more. Not everything will work on PS4, but it’s still a very comprehensive addition.
Easy Lockpicking for the PS4
Lockpicking loses its luster after you’ve done it for the 10 millionth time for some people. If you count yourself among those tired of having to pick locks, Easy Lockpicking for the PS4 makes it dramatically easier to pick any locks you come across.
Dark Water Home
Dark Water Home is a mod for the PS4 that adds a beautiful new livable home by Darkwater Pass. As the modder puts it: “The first time I came out of Darkwater Pass I knew I had to build my home there. A large secluded grounds surrounded by waterfalls centrally located between Windhelm, Whiterun, Ivars, and Riften the Darkwater Home has all the amenities you need without being absurdly large and empty.”
Skyrim Mods Ps4 Bethesda Md
STAR: Triple Gold! A Superior Treasure and Rewards Mod
Get three times the gold from quests, bodies, pockets, chests, and more with this mod.
Believable Crime Radius
Believable Crime Radius for PS4 does exactly what the title hints it. It reduces the vanilla version’s insanely large crime report radius and turns it into something far more realistic. If you’re a career thief, this is one you’ll want to pick up.
Birds and Flocks
This mod is another one that focuses more on making Skyrim prettier, and more immersive. Birds and Flocks, adds detailed flocks of avian creatures all throughout the game.
Multiple Followers System
Keep five followers and five pet followers with you at all times thanks to this mod. Just remember to make a backup save file.
Bridges of Skyrim
Bridges of Skyrim is yet another mod that does exactly as described. It makes the bridges in Skyrim prettier, and reflect the region in which they were built.
Skyrim Restored
Skyrim Restored adds a bunch of cut content back into the game including some caves, weapons, a prison, camps and more.
Faster Leveling
If you’re having trouble raising those stats, this Faster Leveling mod will help you get all of those better perks for your character.
Immersive Citizens
This Immersive Citizens mod aims to revamp how the townspeople work by giving them better schedules, interactions, and even a new “survival instinct” feature.
All Map Locations Discovered
Sometimes you just want to see the complete map without having to travel to each and every location. This mod uncovers everything you need to see, so you can plan your trip ahead.
Marry Almost Anyone
Skyrim is one of those games where you can actually marry someone and start a family, although not with every NPC. This mod expands you marriage options and lets you pick more NPCs that were previously non-romanceable.
Ys Spell Tweaks
This mod is perfect for all of you mages out there. Thanks to a few tweaks to spell mechanics, you’ll be able to cast faster, have stronger abilities, and it removes any unnecessarily annoying animations from the casting experience.

Let’s be honest really quick, the children in Skyrim are downright rude. This mod makes them all a bit nicer by removing some of their less welcome dialogue.
Resurrect Everything
While the ability to resurrect defeated enemies already exists in Skyrim, you were very limited. This mod allows you ressurect all of your foes, excluding dragons.
EasierRider's Dungeon Pack
Think of EasierRider's Dungeon Pack as a small, free DLC expansion that just adds a handful of cool dungeons. There's a total of five dungeons that range from small to very long.
Gardens of Whiterun
The Gardens of Whiterun is exactly what it sounds like. It adds a lot of plant, insect life, fish, and just greenery all around Whiterun making it a much more beautiful city. You can download it for PS4 here.
Slow and Freeze Time Spells
As its simple name suggests, this mod will add time-freezing and slowing spells to the game, purchasable from a special spell vendor in Markarth.
Immersive Patrols
A lot of mods based around immersion sadly aren't available on the PS4, but Immersive Patrols for PS4 luckily is. This mod makes all the various factions in Skyrim patrol around in groups together, making these factions in Skyrim feel more life like and impactful.
Necromancy Overhaul
This mod makes raising the dead a little more fun, removing the level cap and allowing you to summon a permanent undead companion, among other tweaks to the spell school.
Easy Weather Change
Cause over a dozen weather types, including Nightmare Fog, using the spellbooks added by this mod.
Phenderix Magic World DLC
This massive mod goes all out, adding new areas, 400 new spells, tons of new items and more. Not everything will work on PS4, but it's still a very comprehensive addition.
Easy Lockpicking
Lockpicking loses its luster after you've done it for the 10 millionth time for some people.
As the modder puts it: 'The first time I came out of Darkwater Pass I knew I had to build my home there. A large secluded grounds surrounded by waterfalls centrally located between Windhelm, Whiterun, Ivarstead and Riften the Darkwater Home has all the amenities you need without being absurdly large and empty.'
STAR: Triple Gold! A Superior Treasure and Rewards Mod
Get three times the gold from quests, bodies, pockets, chests, and more with this mod.
Believable Crime Report Radius
Believable Crime Radius for PS4 does exactly what the title hints it. It reduces the vanilla version's insanely large crime report radius and turns it into something far more realistic. If you're a career thief, this is one you'll want to pick up.
If you're having trouble raising those stats, this Faster Leveling mod will help you get all of those better perks for your character.
Immersive Citizens
This Immersive Citizens mod aims to revamp how the townspeople work by giving them better schedules, interactions, and even a new 'survival instinct' feature.

There aren't usually a lot of ways that PS4 players end up in this situation, but they've actually been outclassed by Xbox fans in the mods department this time around thanks to Skyrim: Special Edition.
PlayStation 4 players are now playing catch up twice with this revamped Skyrim experienceYuki murata waters surface pro. : once to meet the PC community's insane plethora of mods, and again to just get on par with the Xbox One, which had several months lead time on mod support over the PS4.
At the moment, there are only a paltry 1,600 PS4 Skyrim mods available, which might sound like a large number, but it's an infinitesimal fraction of what's been created since the game first arrived for PC six years back.
Many of the best Skyrim mods -- like the major bug fixes that address problems still present even after all the patches -- sadly haven't hit the PS4 just yet. There aren't a ton of mods that spice up the game's dialog options yet either, which is a shame as much like with Fallout 4, the dialog and story in Skyrim aren't quite up to par with the promise offered by this massive game world.
Despite those missing elements, there are still plenty of excellent PS4 Skyrim mods available, and here we're rounding up the best of the best mods you should get on installing first.

Mod: Even Better Quest Objectives
Skyrim's vanilla (and exceedingly bare bones) quest objective screen barely tells you anything about your current quest other than the absolute basics.
It definitely pales in comparison to the lengthy journal entries of more hardcore RPGs, and the lack of information sort of dumbs down the game -- especially the Special Edition -- as you basically just follow the arrow until you hit the person you need to talk to or kill.
That particular issue is alleviated with this mod, which gives you a much clearer idea of who gave the quest, where they are located, and what you are supposed to do to specifically fulfill the quest objectives.
Mod: Scroll Crafting
I sort of don't understand why this Special Edition mod wasn't in the base game. Who exactly is making these scrolls that you find everywhere -- and why can't the main character get in on the scroll-creating action?
Bethesda's vanilla Skyrim oversight is fixed by the modding community yet again, adding a new branch to the skill tree and the ability to craft a scroll for any spell. Besides the obvious utility function, this addition also makes it easier to have a pure magic build at earlier levels -- even before you have tons of magicka available.
Mod: Cooking, Brewing, and Alchemy Overhaul
An expansion to Skyrim's base crafting system, this nifty mod puts cooking pots and alchemy stations in every inn so you don't have to go hunting for them in any given settlement. But that's just the beginning.
The main draw of this mod is the brewstation, letting you brew drinks in addition to cooking the standard food options, while the number of food recipes is also bumped up significantly and a few ingredients have been added in as well.
If you've already crafted every type of food, try installing this Special Edition mod and keep your craft addiction going strong!
Mod: Hardcore Difficulty -- No Milkdrinkers
Is Skyrim too easy an experience for your walking siege engine of a Dragonborn? Does destroying enemies in the Special Edition get rote and tired? Not anymore!
If you are felling dragons and giants with ease -- and the town guards are no match for your Nord killing machine -- try out this mod to make things more deadly.
The main tweaks you'll find here are that your stamina and magicka will regenerate slower, while enemies will be tougher and block your attacks more often. It's an addition that really increases the stakes.
Mod: Alidon's Ultimate Armory
Definitely a “cheating” mod, this Skyrim: Special Edition mod is basically like accessing the secret console room in Fallout 4 -- but on steroids.
The extra area created by this mod gives you access to every vanilla item in the game, in addition to a host of custom items, spells, and followers. Topping it all off are doors to every hold, dungeon, and guild location. We'd suggest installing this one after you've either beaten the game or start a new playthrough.
Mod: Phenderix The Archmage Artifacts
These Skyrim “artifacts” are really just a simple way to cheat and get essentially infinite magicka. Equip one of the rings from this mod and you'll find yourself with an extra 100,000 magicka with which to sling an endless torrent of spells. So get on changing those iron ingots to gold and let loose with the fireballs already!
Mod: Extra Carry Weight
One of the most annoying things about these types of open world RPGs (other than de-emphasizing story and actual roleplaying choice) is that you always have more loot than you can conceivably carry back to town to sell or disenchant.
That won't be a problem with this very helpful PS4 mod, which gives an extra 2,500 pounds of carry-weight capacity for every point you put in stamina upon leveling up! Your mage will be able to sling a couple of hundred suits of armor over his shoulder and sell 'em all! If you've ever wanted to make more money in Skyrim, this is one of the better ways to do it.
Mod: Magical College of Winterhold
This immersion-based mod makes a series of tweaks to the college at Winterhold, so it feels more like a place actually inhabited by powerful wizards. In other words, Winterhold becomes a little more Hogwarts and a little less “dusty empty barn on top of the mountain.”
While it might not be a game-changing Skyrim mod, this one does lend more realism to the game -- which can go a long way after you've spent 200+ hours slaying dragons.
Mod: Surreal Lighting
With the serious possibility of spending hundreds of hours in-game, graphic overhaul mods are always a welcome addition to any RPG. However, they especially keep Skyrim looking interesting and gorgeous.
This much-praised lighting mod makes some changes to the base game so that outdoor areas have a brighter, more vibrant feel. Again, not a game-changing mod, but one that will make the Special Edition just a tad more special.
Mod: Rain and Snow FX
There may have been a graphics overall update with the release of the Special Edition, but there's still room for improvement -- and more ways to utilize the advanced power of current gen systems.
Creating more immersion with weather effects, this PlayStation 4 mod adds frost to your equipment when outside in cold areas, and also creates dripping particle effects when you run through water or stand outside in the rain.
Mod: Khajiit Speak Dialog Overhaul
An immersion mod to get you more into character if you picked the Khajiit race, this one modifies nearly every line of player dialog in the PS4 version of the game -- with a heavy dialect emphasis on Khajiit speech patterns.
Some of the additions are funny, while others are serious, and quite a few dig deep into the lore of The Elder Scrolls universe. Afterall, it's the ethos of the RPG genre to make you feel more like you're actually a living person in Skyrim.
Mod: Restore Vanilla Settings
As many a giddy PS4 fan has learned after going crazy installing new features, uninstalling mods isn't quite the same as it is on the PC version of Skyrim.
When you're done playing with all those nifty new mods, you might want to grab this one to scrub it all clean, especially if you went overboard and installed a bunch that don't play nice with each other.
This is a life-saving fallback if you're combating broken mods that have unintended consequences, accidentally preventing you from completing main story quests for one reason or another.
With more and more mods being added every day, it's only a matter of time before the PlayStation 4 version of Skyrim: Special Edition starts really competing with the Xbox One and PC versions.
While the number of mods right now is limited, there's still a massive amount of fun to be had trying out the options currently available on PS4.
What did you think of our PS4 Skyrim mod picks, and what mods would you recommend we try to keep us playing the game years later?
Published Jan. 4th 2017
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a fantastic game right out of the box, but the reason so many people still play it so many years after its initial release is the massive modding community. Skyrim mods can do almost anything, from drastically improving the graphics, to creating new quests and non-player characters (NPCs), to something as simple as making the maps more attractive.
ModdingSkyrim and Skyrim: Special Edition isn't too difficult, but it can be a somewhat confusing process. Since there are two different versions of the game, and Skyrim is available on so many platforms, there are multiple different ways to find and install Skyrim mods.
What Version of Skyrim Do You Have?
There are two versions of Skyrim, and the game is also available on a number of different platforms. Both versions can be modded, but the only platforms that are compatible with mods are PS4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Steam.
The version of the game, and the platform you are using, will affect the process you need to go through if you want to mod your game.
Here are the main sources of mods for Skyrim and the platforms that you can use with them:
Nexus Mods: Windows, Steam
Steam Workshop: Steam
Here are the three main sources of mods for Skyrim: Special Edition and the platforms that you can use with them:
Bethesda: Windows, Steam, PS4, Xbox One
Nexus Mods: Windows, Steam
Steam Workshop: Steam
Mods are not compatible with the PS3, Xbox 360, or Nintendo Switch versions of Skyrim.
How to Install Skyrim: Special Edition Mods for PC, PS4, and Xbox One
Skyrim: Special Edition is a version of Skyrim that is available for PC and consoles, and it is designed to make the modding process very easy. In fact, Bethesda actually hosts a huge variety of mods on their own site, and you don't need to download any additional software to use them.
The first part of this process is to create an account on Bethesda.net and locate some mods that you are interested in. Here are the steps that you need to take:
Navigate to Bethesda.net.
Create an account, and log in.
Navigate to the Bethesda.net Skyrim mods page.
Click on any mod that you want to install.
Click Add to library.
Once you have found some Skyrim: Special Edition mods that you want to install, the rest of the process takes place in the game. You will need to tie your accounts together, choose some of the mods you found, and install them.
The next step in modding Skyrim: Special Edition is to connect your Xbox Live, PlayStation Network (PSN), or Steam account to your Bethesda.net account and install your mods:
Launch Skyrim: Special Edition on your Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Steam.
Select Mods.
Enter the email address you used when you created your Bethesda.net account, and select Create Account or press Enter.
You need to select Create Account even though you already have an account. As long as you enter the same email you used to set up your Bethesda.net account, you will then get the option to log in.
Enter your Bethesda.net username and password, and select Accept or hit Enter.
Select a mod that you want to install.
Select Download, and wait for the mod to download.
Select Back or press Escape to return to the main mods screen.
Repeat steps 5-7 for any additional mods.
Select Back or press Escape, and the mods will load.
Some mods do not work well with other mods. If your game does not operate normally, try adjusting the load order by selecting Load Order from the main mods screen. If that doesn't work, you may need to disable one or more mods by clicking on the mod and then clicking on Disable.
Understanding Skyrim: Special Edition Mod Limits
Depending on your platform, there may be limits on how many mods you can download and install. The number of mods you can install will also be lower if you don't have enough free space on your console.
Here are the limits you might run up against:
PS4: No more than 100 or 1GB worth of active mods.
XBox One: No more than 150 or 5GB of active mods.
Steam: No hard limit imposed by Steam. Skyrim itself has a hard coded limit of 255 mods.
The space limitations are placed by Microsoft and Sony, while the limit on the number of mods you can install can be placed by either the console manufacturer or Bethesda.
The limitation on the number of mods can change from time to time if Bethesda decides that Skyrim is capable of handling more, or less, mods while still remaining stable.
How to Install Skyrim or Skyrim: Special Edition Mods on PC Using Nexus Mods
The easiest way to find and install mods for the original version of Skyrim on PC is a program called Nexus Mod Manager, which has an associated website. This program is also compatible with Skyrim: Special Edition and many other games. Modders upload their work to the website, where users are able to search for interesting mods, download them, and then install them using the Nexus Mod Manager program
Before you can use Nexus Mod Manager, you need to create an account on the Nexus Mods site. Account creation is free, although there are limits placed on free accounts. For instance, download speed is capped if you don't pay for a premium account.
All of the Skyrim mods on the Nexus Mods site are free, and you are not required to pay any money or provide any billing information during the registration process.
The first step is to download and install the Nexus Mod Manager:
Navigate to nexusmods.com and create an account.
You do not need to pay to create an account. If you do not wish to pay, do not select any of the payment options during the registration process.
Wait for Nexus Mod Manager to locate your copy of Skyrim.
Nexus Mod Manager searches for over a dozen different games. Once it has located Skyrim, you can click Stop Searching if you don't have the other games.
Click the green check mark to confirm the location of your copy of Skyrim.
If Nexus Mod Manager locates multiple games, you must click each green check mark to proceed.
Select Skyrim or Skyrim: Special Edition, and click OK.
Select the location where you would like to store the mods that you download, and click Finish.
If another window pops up, click OK.
Change the location where mods are stored, or just click Finish.
After you install Nexus Mod Manager, you need to dig in and find some mods for it to manage. This is done through the same Nexus Mod site where you made an account and downloaded the manager software.
The next step is to locate and download Skyrim mods from the Nexus Mods site, and use Nexus Mod Manager to install them:
Navigate to nexusmods.com/skyrim.
Locate a mod that you are interested in, and click on it.
Click on the Files tab.
Click on Download with Manager.
Wait for the mod to download in Nexus Mod Manager.
You may need to authorize Nexus Mod Manager to make changes to your system. If it fails, try running Nexus Mod Manager as an administrator.
In the Nexus Mod Manager client, select a mod that you have downloaded, and click the green check mark on the left to install.
Wait for the mod to install.
Repeat steps 2-7 to install any other mods you would like to use.
Click Launch Skyrim.
You can download and install as many mods as you want with Nexus Mod Manager. In fact, it's literally possible to run hundreds of Skyrim mods at the same time. However, adding too many mods can slow the game down, and some mods don't work well with each other.
If you find that your game doesn't run well, or that it doesn't launch at all, use Nexus Mod Manager to change the load order of your mods. In some cases, changing the load order will make them work well together or run more optimally.
If that doesn't work, then the next step is to use Nexus Mod Manager to disable mods until your game starts working again.
How to Install Skyrim or Skyrim: Special Edition Mods on PC Using Steam Workshop
Steam is a service that allows you to purchase games, download mods, and play online with your friends. If you own either Skyrim or Skyrim: Special Edition on Steam, then the absolute easiest way to install mods is to go right through Steam's own workshop.
Owners of the Steam versions of Skyrim can use mods from both Nexus Mods and Steam Workshop, and owners of the Steam version of Skyrim: Special Edition can use mods from Nexus Mods, Bethesda.net, and Steam Workshop. Using mods from multiple sources works fine in some cases, but you may experience undesired effects.
Here are the steps you need to take to install mods for Skyrim or Skyrim: Special Edition via the Steam Workshop:
Launch your Steam client and log into your account.
Click Library.
Locate The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim or The Elder Scrolls: Special Edition in the games list on the left side of the client and click the one you wish to mod.
Click Community Hub in the Links section on the right side of the client.
Click on the Workshop tab.
Click on any mod that you want to install.
Click Subscribe to install the mod.
You may need to close Skyrim and launch it again to successfully install your mods. Some Steam Workshop mods and mods from other sources may not work well together.
